Amie Richards
Amie attended three schools in the Multi-Academy:
- Our Lady of Mount Carmel, 2001 - 2002
- St Bede's Catholic Middle School, 2002 - 2006
- St Augustine’s Catholic High School and Sixth Form, 2006 - 2011
Since leaving St Augustine’s I have gained academic and professional qualifications at university: BSc in Sports Science, followed by an MSc in Physical Activity, Exercise & Health and a PhD in Sport & Exercise Science. I also completed a PGCE in Higher Education and am currently working as a Research Assistant for the Welsh Institute of Physical Activity, Health & Sport at Swansea University. Initially after graduating, I became a Health Mentor for Evolve - a social impact company who support the health and wellbeing of disadvantaged primary school children in Birmingham.
Both St Bede's and St Augustine's provided me with a first class platform to continue my education. The influence of the teachers to make learning both fun and engaging enabled me to find a love for learning. Additionally, the extra-curricular opportunities that we could take part in, gave me confidence in a variety of settings and fundamentally provided me with a holistic approach to my personal development.
