School Uniform
A smart uniform and appearance benefits you and the good reputation of the school. At St Augustine's we aspire to high standards of dress based on the uniform described below. Our uniform is designed to introduce a sense of 'belonging' and we belive that by wearing a more formal unifrom our students are better prepared for a professional working career.
Boys
The following uniform items are MANDATORY:

| Shirt | White school shirt (shirts with button up to collar no fashion or sports shirts) |
| Tie | Blue/silver striped clip-on school tie |
| Socks | Navy, black or dark grey socks |
| Shoes | Black lace up or slip on shoes/ankle/shoe boots (No heavy boots, training shoes, canvas pumps/plimsolls or Velcro) |

Polo shirt - Pale blue school polo shirt with school logo
Girls
The following uniform items are MANDATORY:
Blazer/Colchester (S cut) Jacket |
Navy with school badge and stripe |
| Skirt | Grey Knee length (No mini, split, wrap-around, divided or tight) |
| OR Trousers | Black or navy of acceptable width and style (not jeans, cords or leggings) |
| Shirt | White school shirt, buttoned to the collar and top button fastened (no fashion or sports shirts) |
| Tie | Blue/silver striped clip-on school tie |
| Tights | Plain black tights (40 denier) |
| Shoes | Black shoes – heels no higher than 1.5”/4cms for health and safety reasons . (No fashion shoes/boots, training shoes, canvas pumps/plimsolls, stiletto heels, sandals, platform shoes or sling back shoes. |
GIRLS YOU MAY WEAR
Optional summer uniform to be worn during the summer term only:
Polo shirt - Pale blue school polo shirt with school logo
Tights - Flesh coloured tights or ankle socks
PLEASE NOTE:
- Jewellery is not permitted in school although girls may wear one small plain round gold/silver stud in each ear lobe. The school accepts no responsibility for loss, damage or theft thereof.
- Hair must be kept tidy and out of students’ eyes
- Hair should not be dyed
- Hair should be cut in a conventional style
- Hair should not be partially shaved
- No scarves or jewelled headbands – girls may wear a black/brown/silver hair band
- No cosmetics or nail polish to be worn
Please note that many types of gel, mousse and hairsprays are inflammable and are therefore a hazard to students in science laboratories and other areas.
- Mobile phones are not permitted to be used in school
- Students must always bring in the correct equipment to school: school bag, exercise books, pens, pencil, ruler, eraser, a calculator and a school planner.
IN ALL MATTERS OF UNIFORM, DECISIONS OVER INTERPRETATION ARE AT THE PRINCIPAL’S DISCRETION.
