School Uniform
A smart uniform and appearance benefits you and the good reputation of the school. At St Augustine's we aspire to high standards of dress based on the uniform described below. Our uniform is designed to introduce a sense of 'belonging' and we belive that by wearing a more formal unifrom our students are better prepared for a professional working career.
Summer uniform can be worn after the Easter Holidays until the end of the summer term – Friday, 17th July 2009. Summer uniform was designed by the School Council to enable students to keep cool in during the summer months.
- Summer uniform polo shirts do not have to be tucked in and no tie needs to be worn.
- Necklaces are not allowed.
- Students should still wear their blazer to and from school.
- Students should not wear a T-shirt underneath their summer polo shirt.
- If the weather is cold students may revert back to their winter uniform: shirt, tie and blazer.
- Students who do not have the summer uniform are expected to wear the full winter uniform.
- Usual uniform expectations relating to footwear, jewellery, hair styles still apply.
Boys
The following uniform items are MANDATORY:
| Blazer | Navy (not black) with school badge and stripe |
| Trousers | Grey (not black or navy) of acceptable length and width |
| Shirt | White school shirt (no fashion or sports shirts) |
| Tie | Blue/white striped tie |
| Socks | Navy, black or dark grey socks |
| Shoes | Black or Dark Brown Shoes (no boots or training shoes) |
The following uniform items are OPTIONAL:
| Jumper | School uniform V neck jumper with school logo |
| Coat | A plain dark-coloured coat is recommended, without emblems or badges |
| Summer Uniform | Pale blue polo shirt with School logo and year stripe |
Boys' hair must be tidy and cut in a conventional style. Many types of gel, mousse and hairspray are inflammable and are therefore a hazard to the students in science laboratories and other areas.
NO jewellery except for watches can be worn.
Girls
The following uniform items are MANDATORY:
| Blazer | Navy (not black) with school badge and stripe |
| Skirt | Grey, (not more than 2 inches/5 cms above or below the knee. No mini, split, wrap-around, divided or tight skirts should be worn as they are unsuitable for school activities) |
| OR Trousers | Navy of acceptable width and style (not jeans, cords or leggings) |
| Shirt | White school shirt / blouse which can be tucked in |
| Tie | Blue/white striped tie |
| Socks/Tights | Navy, white or black socks; or Black or Flesh coloured tights |
| Shoes | Black or Dark Brown Shoes (no fashion shoes/boots, trainers, sandals, platform shoes or "sling-backs." Heels higher than 1.5"/4 cms are inappropriate in the school environment) |

Jewellery, including rings, is not permitted in school (whether worn or not) and the school accepts no responsibility for loss, damage or theft.
Girls may wear one ear stud per ear (in the ear lobe). Girls' hair must be kept tidy and out of their eyes and must NOT be dyed. Many types of gel, mousse and hairsprays are inflammable and are therefore a hazard to the students in science laboratories and other areas.
NO cosmetics or nail varnish to be worn.
PE Kit - Boys
The following uniform items are MANDATORY:
| Training shoes | No black soles, as these mark the gym floor |
| Shorts | Royal Blue Shorts with vertical shadow stripe |
| Reversible Rugby Shirt | Royal Blue/Royal Blue with white hoop |
| T-Shirt | Plain white T-shirt (not sports shirt) |
| Socks | Royal Blue Socks with 3 white bands at top or White Sport Socks |
| Football Boots | With fitted or fixed studs |
| Towel | For use after a shower |
The following uniform items are OPTIONAL:
| Track Suit | Track Suit/ Track Suit bottoms with Sweat Top (Navy) |
| Shin Pads | For football |
PE Kit - Girls
