Aims
We aim to support the development of the whole child and improve their life chances. Teaching assistants help in the development of crucial life skills for students. These include emotional intelligence, self-motivation, resilience and independence. Part of the TA's role is about modelling these for children, developing links with parents and that personal touch is having a big impact at St Augustine's.
SCHOOL ACTION
School Action is when it is identified that a pupil has SEN needs. Teachers provide interventions, that are additional to or different from
those provided as part of the school’s usual differentiated curriculum.
SEN department will provide strategies to support the pupil and an IEP will usually be devised.
STATEMENTED
The LEA determines the SEN provision which the child’s learning difficulty needs. The LEA shall make and maintain the statement alongside the school.
SCHOOL ACTION PLUS
School Action Plus is when teachers and SENCO are provided with advice and support from outside agencies.
